About This Map

This is a community science reporting tool for suspicious river or watershed activity. Every marker represents an observation submitted by a community member and approved by a moderator.

What To Report

• 🦠 Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB): discolored water, scum, foul smell.
• 🛢️ Oil or Chemical Spill: sheens, slicks, solvent smell.
• 🐟 Fish Kill: dead fish, wildlife, or large die-offs.
• ☣️ Pollution / Discharge: unusual pipe outflow, foam, dumping.
• ⛰️ Erosion / Sediment: major bank collapse, muddy plumes.
• 🗑️ Trash / Debris: floating or shoreline debris accumulation.
• 📍 Other Suspicious Activity: anything that looks wrong.

How To Submit

• Click Submit Report and fill out the form.
• Add a photo if you can. GPS is read automatically from your photo’s EXIF data.
• If your photo has no GPS, close the form and click the exact location on the map.
• Submissions go to a moderator for review before appearing on the map.

• Do not touch discolored water, dead wildlife, or suspected contaminants.
• Keep pets and children away from affected areas.
• For emergencies or active spills, always call local authorities first.
